Overview

Albania suffered the most oppressive communism for 47 years. Over 35% live in very severe poverty, especially in rural areas and survive by subsistence farming. Our village surveys showed the main concern is lack of income and employment opportunities.

Franchising of successful microenterprises, reduces risk of failure, eases access to capital and enables many more people to start a successful business.

Aid for Trade will promote sound ethical management with policies for high integrity, gender equality, environmental responsibility and the principles of fair trade.

We are seeking to identify or establish viable microenterprise models suitable for franchising.

Microfarm Franchise Project – incorporates four potential microfranchise opportunities:

  • Model Micro Farm
  • Collective Produce Marketing
  • Microscale Biofuel Production
  • Herb Essential Oil Production
    Potential for multiple replication
