The Winchester TBG has been supporting the introduction of beekeeping into Nyanza Province with its partner MEKO for several years. The project now has over two hundred and sixty hives in the area, where the revenues from honey make a significant difference to lives. The TBG helped with the supply of a honey extractor, not readily available in Kenya, as this piece of equipment is crucial to the operating efficiency of the hives installed.

The Winchester TBG has also supported the project by working with MEKO in business planning, training and reviewing accounts. The long term aim is to develop the project into a self sustaining business.
