How do I include a link to a document in my project Text
Posted: 26 Nov 06 4:38 PM Modified By JSmith on 11/26/2006 4:40:21 PM)

Mike Clargo asked the following question:

I was trying to link from my project to certain files in the documents folder, and it only gives me options of ‘factsheets’, ‘images’ or ‘ultraphotogallery’, and factsheets do not seem to contain the file (small business guide) that I want to link to.  I had a look through the documentation, and I either missed it or …  Any suggestions about how to do this?

You need to use the following steps to include a link to a non-picture item:-
  1. Go to the document library and hover over your document you want to link to
  2. Right click and select 'Copy Shortcut'
  3. Now go to your project and edit the text where you want to put in the link to your document
  4. Put in a text name for the link, such as 'Small Business Guide' and select that text.
  5. Now press the 'Create Link' command (symbol looks like the world with a chain on it) in the editor. This will put up a window saying Hyperlink, with 'http://' highlighted
  6. Now paste the shortcut you copied in step 2 (cntrl-V)
  7. Hit ok on the hyperlink window
  8. Press update at the bottom of the page to update the text box
Your text should nwo have a link in it to your document. If people click on it it should offer to open it with adobe acrobat
