The Portal forums are for exchanging ideas. We hope that the forum will become a lively place of debate, help and networking for people who believe in the TBN aims.

For those new to forums they work by allowing people to ‘post’ new idea (in forum-speak called a new thread) which people can reply to with comments or suggestions. Anyone who goes to the Portal can view all the posts, so unlike email it is very open and public. Any person who registers and logs in to the site can post items onto a forum.

The forums are organised into three main categories: Requests/offers  of help, General discussion topics and discussions related to the Portal itself.

The Discussions Forum is where we hope to see a lot of activity. The ‘help wanted’ and ‘help offered’ are obvious and we want people to use these a lot. The project sector forum allows threads about specific projects and might be used to co-ordinate actions etc. The Portal area is self evident. Please post problems or suggestions here, but please check the Portal Help page for help first.

Hints and Tips:

• We see the Discussion ’help wanted’ forum as somewhere to ask for information or contacts that call on the skills of the TBN members and associates. Questions like ‘do you know someone who …’ would be a typical question.
• Help for a project that needs some level of commitment from a person is more likely to be found in the project HelpWanted section. See ‘Adding a Project’ User Guide.
• Anyone can register on the Portal and then post items onto a forum. This means spurious or even inflammatory posts could exist. We do not moderate the forum, so be warned.
