What to do to keep things up to date

We all know that finding some old, out of date information can be annoying, especially if you start responding to requests for help. We therefore need you to keep things up to date. However we have, hopefully, made it a bit easier for you by adding the 'progress' feature.

Progress Announcements

The Progress field on the Detail tab is for putting up announcements as the project progresses. Using this means you can update the project state with a short comment anytime anything significant happens. Simply add a short piece of text to describe what has happened. Note: we also recommend when you first input the project that you add some announcements showing the major achievements so far, with the date when they happened.


As well as updating the information on the project these progress reports find their way into two other areas. They are:-

  • Each sector home page holds the last three progress announcements across all the projects in this sector.
  • The newsletter (coming soon) will look for new progress announcements on all the projects and compile them into the newsletter that goes out regularly to all the signed up Portal users.

This means that adding progress reports is a good way of getting your project noticed. We encourage you to add something here whenever anything significant happens.

HelpWanted

If HelpWanted items are fulfilled or no longer needed anymore then please remove them otherwise it could be a bit frustrating to people who respond. At the moment you need to delete them, but we may improve that to add a status of ‘done’ or ‘not required anymore’.
